I have 20 years’ experience in accountancy having worked for a number of small accountancy firms in the past, servicing many businesses covering all types of organisations of varying sizes and sectors.
In 2004 I passed all my exams with ACCA and throughout that time I have gained valuable experience over almost all types of businesses and sectors as an auditor, a management accountant and a senior client manager, together with a transition over to the charity sector as a Finance Director, I have a well rounded knowledge of all aspects of accountancy and finance.
Why I chose this career… I have been involved with Forever Manchester since 2009, initially as an outsourced consultant. It was whilst I was a consultant for the charity working for a local accountancy firm that I fell In love with the place and knew it was my dream job. The people are great and what we do is amazing. I get a great sense of achievement doing what I do, knowing that I am not just an accountant earning a profit for a partner or a shareholder and instead what I do contributes to the great work Forever Manchester do in the Greater Manchester Community.
Places I love… Born in Bolton, raised in Wigan, made in Manchester, those three places will always be special for me, in particular, Old Trafford and the Northern Quarter where I lived in my 20s.
The project I am most proud of…I keep a close eye on Forever Manchester’s endowment and work closely with our investment managers to ensure there is a sustainable flow of income to support community groups across Greater Manchester and capital growth for the future.
